Nzobonankira Euloge, Expert in Women’s Cancer Early Detection/ Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening at Rwanda Biomedical Centre, shared on LinkedIn:
“Cervical cancer doesn’t take a vacation, and neither do we.
In August, while summer meant rest for many, it meant action for us in Rwamagana District.
For 5 days, Rwamagana District Hospital and Muyumbu Health Center became a hub of hope. Led by GCRF’s Dr. Andrew Goldstein and Dr. Gail Goldstein, with Lacy Hubbard, MBA, CEO and President of Elekta Foundation, experts from the USA, Canada, Turkey, and Kenya gathered to work hand-in-hand with our Rwandan colleagues from Rwanda Biomedical Centre and Rwanda Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RSOG).
We didn’t just treat. We taught. We mentored. We shared skills and knowledge.

In 5 days:
– 190 women received care through LEEPs, thermal ablations, biopsies, and ECCs
– 12 trainees walked away with new skills and validation
This is what elimination looks like. It looks like teamwork. It looks like showing up even when it’s not ‘the convenient time.’ But this was the right time for us to act.
I’m deeply honored to have been part of this camp and to connect with leaders like Dr. Gevorg Tamamyan, co-founder of OncoDaily, who are amplifying this work globally.
Thank you to Elekta, RBC, RSOG, and the entire GCRF team.
More camps to come. More women to reach.“
