Celebrating Our Newest Cohort of Nurse Residents – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Last week, we welcomed our newest cohort of nurse residents to St. Jude and celebrated another exciting Nurse Residency Match Day! Our new graduate nurses arrived on campus earlier this summer to begin their 12-month clinical skills-based curriculum, designed to guide their transition from students to professionals, with a focus on becoming Pediatric Oncology Nurses.
Match Day marks the culmination of weeks spent rotating through diverse patient care areas including inpatient and outpatient units, surgical services, float pool and the ICU. These rotations provide invaluable exposure to the full spectrum of care and foster meaningful connections throughout our organization. Following this process, each nurse resident will embark on their personalized clinical orientation, working closely with a preceptor to develop the specialized skills needed to care for our patients.
Our accredited Nurse Residency Program is grounded in evidence-based practice and led by experienced faculty. To ensure a smooth transition, St. Jude offers comprehensive NCLEX preparation, including dedicated time for independent study, simulation, and gamified learning.
‘It’s been so apparent how deeply our mission is ingrained in everything we do here. From environmental services to nurses, physicians, and every position in between, everyone is dedicated to living out our mission. It’s such a cool thing to be part of and to hopefully instill in future residency programs,’ Molly, one of our nurse residents, shared.
Congratulations to all our nurse residents! We can’t wait to see the incredible impact you’ll make.”
