Michael Sapienza, Chief Executive Officer of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, shared on LinkedIn:
“Five years ago, Craig Melvin and Lindsay Czarniak turned personal loss into action when they held the first annual Bottoms Up® Invitational in honor of Craig’s brother who died of colon cancer.
Each year since then, they continue to create impact and build momentum toward a world free of colorectal cancer. This September, the Bottoms Up Invitational is celebrating its fifth anniversary, bringing together celebrities, advocates, and supporters for a two-day event benefiting the lifesaving work of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
In the past four years, the event has raised more than $4.4 million to support Alliance initiatives focused on colorectal cancer prevention, support, and research. That is an extraordinary accomplishment, and a powerful example of what can happen when pain is turned into purpose.
Craig and Lindsay, thank you for five years of making a meaningful difference for the colorectal cancer community and for honoring your brother, Lawrence, in such a purposeful way.
Colorectal cancer is the deadliest cancer in people under 50 and the second deadliest overall. We need more awareness, more support for patients and families, and continued investment in research and innovation to change that trajectory.
I hope you’ll consider joining us September 13 and 14 in Fairfield, Connecticut, for this year’s Bottoms Up Invitational. Whether you attend the concert, participate in the golf tournament, sponsor the event, or make a donation, your support helps make a tremendous impact.
Learn more and purchase tickets.”
