“I am deeply honored to have been elected to the Board of Directors of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) for 2026 – 2028.
I receive this responsibility with gratitude – and with a strong sense of commitment to the global cancer community.
Over the past months, this journey has given me the opportunity to listen, exchange perspectives and learn from colleagues and organizations working across very different health systems and realities.
I am especially grateful to everyone who shared their time, ideas and trust along the way.
I look forward to contributing to the UICC Board with the perspective that has shaped my work throughout my career: strengthening cancer systems through evidence-informed decisions, implementation grounded in local realities, equity, strong institutions and collective leadership.
And I look forward to bringing to these conversations the experience of Latin America and other settings where translating global commitments into sustainable local impact remains one of our greatest challenges.
