Announcing the 2025 Home Away from Home Grant Recipients – Childhood Cancer International
Childhood Cancer International (CCI) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“We are very pleased to announce the recipients of the Home Away from Home grants, by Childhood Cancer International and Foundation S. We are excited about the prospects of these projects, which aim to decrease treatment abandonment of children and adolescents with cancer in low- and middle-income countries. This is exactly the sense of purpose of our collective ambition.
This year, we have the privilege of welcoming new sponsors for this initiative. Thanks to the generous support of Her Royal Highness Princess Adelah Bint Abdallah, Saudi Arabia, and Vicky’s Dream Foundation, Spain, we were able to support more organizations and make a bigger impact!
We received 27 compelling and worthy proposals from CCI member organizations worldwide. Thanks to all the organizations that sent their projects – the time and effort are appreciated. This was a hard decision for the committee, and after careful assessment and much consideration, the home projects of the following organizations were selected:
- Ethiopia, Tesfa Addis Parents Childhood Cancer Organization – Capital Project, house construction
- Kenya, Hope for Cancer Kids – Operational Project, rental and the running of a Home
- México, Manos que Sanan AC – Operational Project, running a Home
- Nepal, Ramesh Gupta Memorial Trust – Capital Project, house construction
- Perú, Peruvian Cancer Foundation – Operational Project, running a Home
- Ukraine, Charitable Foundation Zaporuka – Operational Project, room rentals
We are confident that these 6 projects will combat treatment abandonment, thus contributing to the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer goal of achieving a 60% survival rate by 2030.
We invite the organizations that received awards to share the good news among their communities and publicly. We look forward to seeing the impact of the Home Away From Home projects, and the reports on how children, adolescents and parents/carers will benefit!
A deep thank you to all in the CCI community who participated in this programme. Let’s keep saving lives together!”
