Emad Shash, General Manager at National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, shared Zeinab Abdelwhab’s post on LinkedIn, adding:
“Proud to see this work accepted for poster presentation at the ESMO AI & Digital Oncology Congress 2026 in Berlin.
This project is particularly meaningful to me because it reflects how we believe oncology pharmacy should evolve, beyond medication dispensing, toward a more integrated role in workflow redesign, digital transformation, patient safety, and improving the efficiency of cancer care delivery.
The study evaluates a pharmacist-led digital transformation of the chemotherapy pharmacy workflow using real-world implementation data. More importantly, it represents the result of teamwork, identifying a practical problem within our daily practice, developing a solution, implementing it, and then scientifically evaluating its impact.
Congratulations to Zeinab Abdelwhab, Reem Eid , Ghada Emam, and the entire Clinical Pharmacy Team for their commitment and contribution. Very pleased to see the work of our team represented on an international ESMO platform.
Looking forward to sharing our experience in Berlin this November.”

Pharmacist-led digital transformation of chemotherapy pharmacy workflow: a frequency-matched real-world implementation study
This project represents an important step in our journey toward digital transformation in oncology pharmacy practice, exploring how a pharmacist-led approach can help redesign chemotherapy pharmacy workflows and evaluate the impact of real-world implementation.
I’m grateful to all colleagues and collaborators who contributed to this work and supported its development, with special appreciation to our Clinical Pharmacy Team for their valuable contribution, collaboration, and support throughout this journey.”
