Cancer Institute NSW shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Congratulations to our very own Sheetal Challam for receiving the Refugee Supporter – Highly Commended award at the 2026 NSW Humanitarian Awards last week at Parliament of NSW.
For more than 25 years, Sheetal has been driving meaningful change in refugee health across the settlement and public sectors. Her leadership, including 9 years at the helm of the Institute’s Multicultural Program, continues to inspire and make a lasting difference. This recognition is so well deserved.
The NSW Humanitarian Awards celebrate exceptional individuals and organizations who have displayed extraordinary dedication and compassion to support refugees and asylum seekers as they rebuild their lives. They are jointly presented by STARTTS | NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors and the Refugee Council of Australia.”
