$200K to Develop First-of-its-kind Blood Test to Detect Pediatric Cancer – St. Baldrick’s Foundation
St. Baldrick’s Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Breakthrough in pediatric cancer detection!
Dr. Tobey MacDonald at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University has received a $200,000 St. Baldrick’s Research Grant to develop the first blood test of its kind to detect cancer cells in children – and monitor how they respond to treatment in real time.
Brain tumors remain the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in children, and this innovative test could transform care, helping doctors guide treatment more precisely and paving the way for new drugs that target treatment-resistant cancer cells.
We’re proud to support research that brings hope to children and families facing cancer.
