Benjamin Ebert: The WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon Raised a Record $7.1 Million for Cancer Research

Benjamin Ebert, President and CEO at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, shared on LinkedIn:

“Thank you, Red Sox Nation! The WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon at Fenway Park raised a record $7.1 million and counting for cancer research and care at Dana-Farber.

Thank you to the amazing Jimmy Fund Co-Chair Tom Caron for interviewing me on NESN. And thanks to the WEEI Sports Radio Network for the interview. I particularly enjoyed being called the ‘big man’ when sitting next to Ted Johnson, 10-year linebacker for the Patriots and 3x Super Bowl champion.

I appreciate Rich Shertenlieb for sharing your family’s experience at Dana-Farber. And thanks to the Boston Red Sox, Arbella Insurance Group, and everyone who tuned in, contributed, and continues to stand with The Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Since 2002, the Radio-Telethon has raised more than $80 million to support cancer care and research at Dana-Farber. But what makes these two days so powerful are the people behind those numbers – especially the patients and families who generously share their stories.

Cancer research and care are advancing more rapidly than ever thanks to support like this.”
