Future SIOP Congress- SIOP Weekly Bulletin

Dear SIOP Asia Members,

At yesterday’s Business Meeting, SIOP Asia considered and approved a proposal to alternate the hosting of SIOP Asia Congresses between Eastern Asia Region and Western Asia Region as per the following schedule:

2022 Congress (Virtual) = hosted by China (Eastern Asia Region)
2023 Congress (Hybrid) = hosted by Armenia (Western Asia Region)
2024 Congress (In person) = hosted by Japan (Eastern Asia Region)
2025 Congress (In person) = hosted by tbd (Western Asia Region)
2026 Congress (In person) = hosted by tbd (Eastern Asia Region)
2027 Congress (In person) = hosted by tbd (Western Asia Region)

And so forth until further decision

Countries are divided between the 2 regions as follows:

EASTERN ASIA REGION

Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China (HK, Macao), India, Indonesia, Japan, Lao, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, North Korea, Phillippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, VietNam

WESTERN ASIA REGION

Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, UAE, Uzbekistan, Yemen

The note that the bid documents for the 2025 SIOP Asia Congress hosting will be shared in early June 2023 via the SIOP News page, social media and the SIOP weekly bulletin.
