Quoting The Elekta Foundation’s post:
“Together with our partners and under the leadership and coordination of the Rwanda Biomedical Centre, we are expanding our efforts to utilize the scalable and sustainable FAST model for cervical cancer screening and detection in the Western Province of Rwanda.
Karongi marks the third district in Rwanda where women-centered healthcare services will be available. Our program includes simultaneous screening for both cervical and breast cancer, with operations starting in May. The aim is to screen 32,000 women within 16 weeks.
‘We are committed to eliminating cervical cancer in Africa, and Rwanda is undoubtedly making strides towards achieving the WHO’s targets set for 2030’, says Lacy Hubbard, President Elekta Foundation.”
