The future of Cancer Research is bright – Christine M. Lovly
The future of Cancer Research is bright!
Grateful to American Association for Cancer Research, National Cancer Institute (NCI), + all sponsors for for supporting career development + community building for Physician Scientists. This is a critical work force that we need to encourage and promote in order to continue to bring scientific advances to patients. Now 30 years ongoing, this week long intense course was initiated by some of the top physician scientists in the world (including Charles Sawyers + Bill Kaelin) and has an impressive list of alumni (and faculty) who are now senior leaders in academia and industry. The course focuses on grant writing, experimental design, data analysis, career advice, and networking. We aim to catalyze continued passion for translational cancer research + promote the community necessary to build a lifelong career in patient centered care. An inspiring week! Many thanks to the wonderful AACR team, to my awesome course co-director Jean Tang and director Ross Levine, and to all the fantastic faculty for the efforts towards organizing the course + making a great experience for all attendees!
