Chris Hourigan: She inspired to an entire generation of leukemia physicians
Chris Hourigan, Chief at Lab of Myeloid Malignancies at NHLBI Bethesda Labs, made the following post on Twitter:
“In recent times the leukemia chiefs at MGH, Yale, Penn, Hopkins, Maryland, NIH, UNC, Levine – and that is just going down one coast – had overlapped clinically with Judy Karp at Johns Hopkins. She inspired to an entire generation of leukemia physicians. That is impact and legacy.
That’s in large part because as residents and fellows you know who the best doctors in the hospital are. The best and brightest fellows may be heading to biopharma now – but for those who saw Judy Karp on the leukemia wards it was always going to be leukemia.”
