After eight years of treatment and two relapses, Gavin has now been cancer-free for seven years! – Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation
Quoting Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation on LinkedIn:
Impact in action! Research funded by donors of the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation has allowed children like Gavin to soar after receiving cancer diagnoses and treatments.
On New Year’s Day in 2010, four-year-old Gavin was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After eight years of treatment and two relapses, Gavin has now been cancer-free for seven years!
Gavin’s treatment was built upon early CAR T cell research we funded with the support of our community. Today, because of our continuously dedicated donors and supporters, we continue to invest in the future of CAR T therapy by funding scientists who are exploring its use in hard-to-treat solid tumors. Stories like Gavin’s are why we are so confident that we will succeed in advancing breakthroughs to treat even the most challenging pediatric cancers!
