“Great news for LATAM oncology!
Congratulations to Veronica Salais Michaus for being selected to the ESMO Leadership Program 2025–2026.
Her participation not only highlights her talent and commitment but also represents a strong voice for Latin America in shaping the future of oncology leadership at a global level.
Celebrating the presence of LATAM in this important initiative, and looking forward to the impact that will come from her contribution.”

“Announcing the ESMO Leadership Development Programme Class of 2025-26.
Since 2016, the ESMO Leadership Development Program has identified and nurtured future leaders in oncology. Initially run in Europe and later split with an Asia-Pacific stream, it has this year been restructured into a single global initiative — recognising that cancer challenges are global and collaboration across continents is essential.
I’m honoured to be part of the Class of 2025-26, and proud to represent Australia as one of 3 participants alongside Edmond Kwan and Julia Dixon-Douglas.
Over the next 12 months, we look forward to sharpening our leadership skills to better serve the institutions we work in, and to enhance oncology leadership not only across our countries, but also globally — through collaboration and partnership with ESMO.
A big thank you to Teresa Amaral MD, PhD and the ESMO LDP faculty for this incredible opportunity.
Congratulations to my fellow classmates from around the world — I look forward to learning from you and connecting in person at ESMO25 in Berlin!”
