Alina Comanescu, Vice Chair of the Board of Digestive Cancer Europe, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today, I had the privilege of attending the Romanian Summit on Clinical Research, an event that brought together regulators, researchers, clinicians, industry representatives, and importantly, patients to discuss how we can make clinical research more effective, ethical, and patient-centered.
As a member of the EORTC – European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Group of Patient Experts and the Independent Data Monitoring Committee, I was especially proud to see growing recognition of the essential role that patients play not just as participants, but as partners in research design, implementation, and oversight.
Clinical trials are not only about data and endpoints – they are about people, their experiences, and their trust. Patient engagement at every stage ensures that research remains relevant, ethical, and impactful for those it aims to serve.
The Summit showcased Romania’s growing potential in clinical research, particularly through initiatives focused on digitalization and improved patient access to cutting-edge therapies.”
