“Mini experiment with an amazing outcome!
For over a decade, I’ve been funding angiosarcoma research through my non-profit. This, alongside my own research, has yielded insights into my exceedingly rare cancer. But, and it’s a big one, you can make all the discoveries in the world, but if you can’t get therapy into a human, it will not move the needle.
A couple of years ago, we signed an agreement with a PI at a major academic institution to fund entirely, the out-of-state travel for any patient she enrolled in her trial, for the duration of the trial AND any subsequent post-trial follow-ups.
The PI had one patient with a complete and durable response, who has now been NED for 2 years. Precision oncology is sometimes about airplanes and babysitters.”
