I am always grateful to be able to take care of children and teenagers as well as adults with sarcoma – James C. Wittig, MD
I am always grateful to be able to take care of children and teenagers as well as adults with sarcoma it is the biggest compliment in the world coming from parents who trust me and my awesome team with their child’s major surgery and other care. Sarcomas constitute 1 percent of all cancers. They are very rare and often overlooked as a cause of pain and swelling in an arm or leg. They can be dismissed as an injury or sports problem. It is important to raise awareness of the aggressive deadly disease. Surgery and usually limb saving surgery is the mainstay of treatment. Chemotherapy and/or radiation are also often utilized. Prognosis can be good. More research is needed to develop new drugs and treatments for this deadly disease.
