Amol Akhade: Do oncologists from LMICs and HICs treat and read about only certain solid tumors or all of them?
Amol Akhade, Consultant Medical Oncologist and Hemato-oncologist at Suyog Cancer Clinics, shared a post on X:
“Question to my oncology colleagues from LMICs and HICs both, who treat mainly adult solid tumors in clinic
Do u treat and read about only certain solid tumors or all of them ? Like only breast or lung or only GI or GU ? In LMICs, most of the oncologists will see all the solid tumors ( some even see heam cancers also along with adult solid tumors.
But in HICs, it is only organ specific, most of the times. What’s the best way? vote and comment.”
- Organ specific 22.1%
- No, all solid tumors 44.2%
- Depends upon hospital 18%
- May be 2 or 3 organs 15.7%
