Sachin H. Jain: An impressive gathering of talent from across sectors

Sachin H. Jain posted the following on LinkedIn:

“Ten years ago, Aman Bhandari and Vishal Arora and I co-founded the South Asian Healthcare Leadership Forum (SAHLF) to unlock the potential of the growing number of South Asians in leadership roles in American healthcare including government, managed care, clinical medicine, biopharma, and academia.

With leadership of Tanya Brara Shah, Pooja Chandrashekar, MD, MBA, and Rajkumar Pammal, MD, we held three major meetings before COVID pushed the organization into dormancy.

The past weekend—with the help and leadership of Aneesh Chopra, Vishal Vasishth and the team at Obvious Ventures—we relaunched SAHLF in a gathering at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

It was an impressive gathering of talent from across sectors—headlined by a keynote panel featuring Aneesh, Seema Verma, Ashish Jha, and Micky Tripathi—all iconic figures in US healthcare.

I was honored to emcee the event and also lead a panel with Sreekanth Chaguturu, Prathibha Varkey, MBBS, MPH, MHPE, MBA, Pooja Ika, and Niyum Gandhi—where we reflected on our origin stories and the ways in which our identity shaped us and influence our careers.

Pooja Chandrashekar, MD, MBA led a terrific discussion on entrepreneurship, identity, and risk aversion with Krishna Yeshwant, Asif Dhar, Arun Mohan, MD, MBA, Najat Khan, PhD, and Rahul Rajkumar.

And Sahar Malik of Heidrick & Struggles led a conversation on glass ceilings with Simmi Singh, Meenu Chhabra Karson, and Amol S Navathe. Amol memorably shared the importance of mentors and antimatter efforts and passions, across so many different elements of oncology care today.”
