Carolyn Aldige: We are delighted to report that due to the efforts of many, we exceeded our fundraising goal of $2 million!

Carolyn Aldige, Founder of Prevent Cancer Foundation, recently posted on LinkedIn:

“The Prevent Cancer Foundation paid tribute to Jordan last week at our Annual Gala, Jordan: Pillar of Wonder. We were honored to be joined by their Royal Highnesses, Prince Talal and Princess Ghida, as well as Her Excellency, Ambassador Dina Kawar, at one of the most highly anticipated evenings on the Washington social calendar.

Although you might not think of Alexandria, Virginia, and Amman, Jordan as having much in common, we share a commitment to cancer prevention and early detection. It was our greatest pleasure to have representation from the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center at this year’s event, including its chairperson, Princess Ghida Talal, who made remarks that left an impact on everyone in attendance: “Fighting cancer is not an option, it is a moral obligation.”

The Prevent Cancer Gala also gives us the opportunity to celebrate contributions to cancer prevention and early detection through our annual Cancer Champion Award. Congratulations to Senators Tom Carper and Shelley Moore Capito and thank you for your significant contributions on behalf of prevention and early detection.

As always, this event would not be possible without the dozens of volunteers, Foundation staff, and many more who come together each year to support our vision. We’re immensely grateful to co-chairs Anna Griffin, Jennifer Griffin, and Ted Okon, and celebrations expert extraordinaire David Tutera, for all their contributions to a beautiful and successful evening.
