“It has been a real honor to co-chair the 2024 SNO/ASCO CNS Metastases Conference Denver, CO, in partnership with the amazing Dr. Priya Kumthekar, many thanks to Daphne Haas-Kogan SNO president for her presence and support and ASCO President Lynn Schuchter for the opportunity.
After an afternoon of concurrent think tank meetings for Brain Mets and LMD, a workshop for early career investigators, our first session on Thurs brought leaders from large and small pharma companies to engage in candid conversations addressing barriers to drug development in this population.”

Hussein Tawbi is a Professor in the Departments of Melanoma Medical Oncology and Investigational Cancer Therapeutics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on mechanisms of resistance to therapy in melanoma, melanoma brain metastases, epigenetic regulation of therapeutic resistance, and drug development through early-phase clinical trials.
Priya Kumthekar is a UCNS-certified neuro-oncologist at Northwestern University and an Associate Professor of Neurology at the Feinberg School of Medicine. She is dedicated to advancing brain tumor treatment through her leadership in clinical trials, with a focus on treating primary brain tumors such as gliomas and meningiomas.
