Raj Chakraborty: When asked about diet, I always counsel patients to not overthink about any particular diet to improve cancer outcomes.
Raj Chakraborty, Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in the division of Hematology/Oncology, shared a post by Aaron Goodman, adding:
“When asked about diet, I always counsel patients to not overthink about any particular diet (eg, plant-based, keto, etc.) to improve cancer outcomes. The data just isn’t there. Of course, research is needed, and I will happily recommend it if there are convincing clinical data.”
Quoting Aaron Goodman’s post:
“I’m leading a patient conference where we are discussing a plant-based diet to prevent smoldering myeloma progression to myeloma. I can’t wait to explain reality to these patients.”
