Rahat Ul Ain, MBBS, FCPS (Pediatric Medicine), FCPS (Pediatric Hematology–Oncology), is Assistant Professor of Pediatric Hematology–Oncology at The Children’s Hospital Lahore and the University of Child Health Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. She is the first Pediatric Oncologist in Pakistan to complete a dedicated 2-year fellowship in Pediatric Neuro-Oncology at St. Jude Global, USA, and is currently the only formally trained Pediatric Neuro-Oncologist in the province of Punjab.

Dr. Rahat has dedicated her career to advancing the care of children with brain tumors and complex pediatric malignancies. Her clinical and research interests span pediatric neuro-oncology, pediatric hematology–oncology, supportive care, and quality improvement, with a particular focus on strengthening capacity and treatment outcomes in low- and middle-income settings. Over more than a decade of service at The Children’s Hospital Lahore, she has been instrumental in expanding subspecialty care for children with central nervous system tumors and improving multidisciplinary models of pediatric cancer care.

She has authored seventeen peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals and has received multiple distinctions, including the Young Investigator Award for her research presented at leading global oncology conferences. Dr. Rahat serves on the editorial boards of three national medical journals and contributes to an international oncology platform, reflecting her commitment to advancing scientific communication and education in pediatric oncology.

Her leadership roles include serving as a member of the Scientific Committee of the Pakistan Society of Pediatric Oncology (PSPO) and holding memberships in several key international and regional professional organizations, including the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP), Pediatric Oncology East and Mediterranean Group (POEM), Pakistan Society of Neuro-Oncology (PASNO), Pakistan Society of Pediatric Oncology (PSPO), and the Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA).

Dr. Rahat’s academic achievements are complemented by her extensive clinical training. She completed dual FCPS fellowships in Pediatric Medicine and Pediatric Hematology–Oncology through the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, followed by her specialized Pediatric Neuro-Oncology fellowship at St. Jude Global. Her background also includes Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protection certifications from the CITI Program (2024–2027).

She is recognized nationally as a leading authority in pediatric neuro-oncology and continues to contribute to clinical research, capacity building, and the development of sustainable pediatric cancer care models in Pakistan. Her work has had significant impact on early diagnosis, multidisciplinary management, and evidence-based care for children with brain tumors across the region.
