Dr. Lidia Schapira is a Professor of Medicine in Oncology at Stanford University and Director of the Cancer Survivorship Program at the Stanford Cancer Institute. She also serves as Faculty Co-Director for Clinical Research and Clinical Trials in the Office of Cancer Health Equity.

A breast medical oncologist by training, Dr. Schapira is internationally recognized for her leadership in cancer survivorship, psychosocial oncology, and health equity. Her work focuses on optimizing outcomes for patients living with and beyond cancer, while advancing clinical trial accessibility and equity in care.

She is Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Co-Editor-In-Chief of CancerWorld and formerly served as Editor-in-Chief of Cancer.Net (2015–2021). Dr. Schapira has held key roles in multiple professional societies, including the American Psychosocial Oncology Society and the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer. She is a frequent lecturer and has published extensively on survivorship and cancer care delivery.
