King Hussein Cancer Research Award: Advancing Cancer Research Across the Arab World 2026

The King Hussein Cancer Research Award continues to highlight the growing strength of cancer research across the Arab world, recognizing researchers whose work is expanding scientific understanding and contributing to progress in oncology.

Established in 2020 in honor of the memory of His Majesty the late King Hussein of Jordan, the award celebrates leading researchers who have made outstanding contributions to cancer science, with a special focus on research connected to the Arab world.

A Regional Movement Built on Science

Since its launch, the King Hussein Cancer Research Award has grown into more than an annual recognition program. It reflects a wider regional commitment to advancing cancer research, supporting scientific excellence, and encouraging collaboration among researchers working to address one of the most urgent health challenges in the region.

In a message from the award’s Chairperson, the initiative is described as a dream that began in 2020: an Arab world more actively integrated into global cancer research. Five years later, that vision has developed into a movement shaped by scientific ambition, regional collaboration, and a shared belief that research remains central to the fight against cancer.
