GI oncology is moving quickly across biomarkers, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, liquid biopsy, and new treatment modalities. NEGI 2026 is designed to connect those advances across disease areas—and to keep the patient perspective in the room.
The program moves from bench science and emerging investigators to multidisciplinary clinical practice, access, equity, quality of life, and patient-partnered research. Every participant shares the same track, creating space for ideas to travel across specialties.

Meet the Co-Chairs
Dr. Yelena Janjigian is Chief of the Gastrointestinal Oncology Service and the Carroll and Milton Petrie Chair at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. A physician-scientist specializing in esophageal and stomach cancers, she leads clinical and translational research focused on biomarker-directed treatment, immunotherapy, and the development of new therapeutic strategies for upper GI malignancies.
Dr. Aparma R. Parikh is a gastrointestinal medical oncologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and Medical Director of the Center for Young Adult Colorectal Cancer. Her clinical and research work centers on colorectal cancer, including young-onset disease, liquid biopsy, and novel therapeutic approaches. She also directs Mass General’s Global Cancer Care Program, advancing equitable access to cancer care and technology.
Dr. Samuel Klempner is a gastrointestinal medical oncologist at Massachusetts General Hospital. His work uses molecular characterization to individualize care across GI cancers, with particular emphasis on gastroesophageal malignancies. He leads clinical trials and translational research evaluating targeted agents, immune therapies, and the mechanisms that shape treatment response and resistance.
Dr. Eileen O’Reilly is the Winthrop Rockefeller Endowed Chair of Medical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is Co-Director for Medical Initiatives at the David M. Rubenstein Center for Pancreatic Cancer Research and Section Head of Hepatopancreatobiliary and Neuroendocrine Cancers. Her work focuses on pancreatic and hepatobiliary malignancies, including molecularly and genetically informed treatment strategies.
