Jeff Allen: New Evidence Supporting ctDNA as an Early Indicator of Treatment Benefit

“NEW RESULTS:

Our latest publication provides insights into the growing body of evidence about the use of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) as an early indicator of treatment benefit.

We identified a total of 76 studies in solid tumors that evaluated on-treatment ctDNA dynamics and the association with overall survival (OS) – 75 demonstrated a positive association between ctDNA reduction and improved OS.

ctDNA change can be evaluated long before survival data becomes available, raising the possibility for it to be a valuable endpoint in clinical trials. 

While there are differences across studies in terms of ctDNA collection times, assay characteristics, and magnitude of change – 75/76 studies showing an association between ctDNA reduction in response to treatment and improved survival is pretty compelling.

As our ctMoniTR Project moves forward, we aim to generate the evidence necessary for ctDNA change to be used as a early clinical trial endpoint to support accelerated approval.
