Javier Retamales, Resident Doctor at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans and Board Member of GOCCHI, shared on LinkedIn:
“Very happy to share our new original publication in JCO Journals.
Studying end-of-life care is challenging, but it is possible when we design research around the needs of patients and caregivers.
In this study, we explored how familiar messaging technology can help collect meaningful data from bereaved caregivers while respecting their time, privacy, and emotional experience.
This work opens a path toward better and more inclusive data collection during end-of-life care, particularly in Latin America.
Deeply grateful to The Hope Foundation for Cancer Research for believing in and supporting this initiative through the SEED Award, and to my SWOG Cancer Research Network mentors and Hospital Sótero del Río colleagues for their guidance and encouragement along the way.”
