I am incredibly proud of Michela Bartolini, one of my first fellows, who, through a wonderful collaboration with Prof. Heinz Josef Lenz, led this outstanding work on long non-coding RNAs in colorectal cancer.
Reviews are sometimes perceived as boring. However, when conducted at the highest level, they are essential for navigating emerging fields, organizing complex evidence and identifying the most promising directions for future research.
This is precisely the ambition of our review: to explore the largely uncharted role of long non-coding RNAs in shaping the colorectal cancer microenvironment and to provide a foundation for new translational research projects.
