World Child Cancer highlights financing innovation for childhood cancer care at the World Health Assembly 2025
World Child Cancer shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Live from the World Health Assembly 2025! This morning, our Director of Programmes, Joseph Dixon, joined a powerful side event hosted by City Cancer Challenge (C/Can) and Access Accelerated, exploring the future of innovative financing in cancer care.
As demands on health systems in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) grow, the conversation emphasised the importance of:
– Moving beyond traditional donor/ public funding
– Strengthening cross-sector collaboration
– Investing in surgical capacity and other cross-cutting health system priorities
– Advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) to deliver better outcomes for children with cancerThis shift in how we finance, and structure cancer care is critical if we’re to achieve better outcomes for childhood cancer patients.
Are you attending the World Health Assembly too?
We’d love to connect and hear your thoughts on how we can work together to improve childhood cancer care globally. Drop us a message or comment below!”
