Victoria Wolodzko Smart shared an article on documenting the unique needs of people living with metastatic breast cancer

Victoria Wolodzko Smart, Senior Vice President of Mission for Susan G. Komen, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Tackling metastatic breast cancer is a strategic imperative for Susan G. Komen, and so it’s so gratifying that our Center for Applied Research at Susan G. Komen has its first publication in the Journal of Oncology Navigation and Survivorship (JONS), focused on documenting the unique needs of people living with metastatic breast cancer.

This research study not only builds upon the body of evidence about people living with MBC, but it also informed the development of Komen’s own patient navigation training program. Our goal at Komen is to be truly responsive and supportive to those living with incurable metastatic breast cancer through our programs and services, and this study reflected the power of listening to patients AND implementing that feedback.

Thank you to all of the patients who participated in the study and to my colleagues for this impactful work: Stephanie McCoy, Julie McMahon, Kelley Moultry, Jessica Brewer, Kasey Volpe, Toni Lee, Kari Wojtanik, Janet Okamoto and Kyandra Fox

If you’d like to learn more about our free, virtual patient navigation training program, that includes training on navigating those living with MBC, visit us here. All are welcome to access the program.”
