Udhayvir Grewal: New onset AFib as an independent predictor of mortality after CROSS and esophagectomy
Udhayvir Grewal, Resident Physician at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Academy Medical Centre, shared two articles on X:
“Proud of Stefano Byer for leading this study in continuation of our work on cardiac events after esophagectomy for esophageal cancer. Our study shows new onset AFib as an independent predictor of mortality after neoadjuvant chemoradiation (CROSS) and esophagectomy.
We need to optimize cardiovascular surveillance among these patients. (Reminder to also look beyond just cancer-related mortality in this cohort).
We previously showed comparable cardiac rhythm AEs between CROSS and FLOT.
