Thor Halfdanarson: SSTR avid thyroid nodules are not rare and often seen on SSTR PET scan
Thor Halfdanarson, Vice President for the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society, made the following post on X:
“SSTR avid thyroid nodules are not rare and often seen on SSTR PET scan. 6.3% had SSTR avid thyroid nodules (9 had PET for known MTC – an often SSTR+ tumor). The malignancy rate among SSTR PET and nodules was similar to thyroid nodules in the general population.”
