2nd Synergies Forum on Cancer Policy, Research and Funding Strategies Organized by ELLOK

Following the highly successful organization of the 1st Greek Forum on Cancer in July 2024, the Hellenic Cancer Federation – ELLOK proceeds with the organization of the “2nd Synergies Forum on Cancer Policy, Research & Funding Strategies”, which will take place in Athens on June 30 – July 1, 2025, at the Wyndham Grand Athens Hotel.

The 2nd Synergies Forum is under the patronage of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Digital Governance, and other highly important national scientific societies and health and research organizations.

OBJECTIVES & THEMES

The event will be a multi-disciplinary Forum of high-level representatives, bringing together officials from the state, the scientific and research community, the pharmaceutical industry, digital transformation, and patient organizations, with the following key objectives:

-To highlight opportunities, challenges, and actions that will lead to the effective management and treatment of cancer in Greece and Europe.
-To design strategies for the development of the necessary health policies in our country.
-To promote collaboration between all stakeholders involved.
-To maximize the use of European tools, such as the Cancer Mission.

Some of the topics to be discussed at the “2nd Synergies Forum on Cancer Policy, Research & Funding Strategies” include:

-Developments in the National Cancer Action Plan.
-Investment in prevention – strengthening public health.
-Focusing on the core of innovation: Precision medicine – gene/cell therapies.
-Increasing funding – Reviewing pharmaceutical policy.
-Translating cancer research programs into added value for patients and healthcare systems.
-Enhancing the integration of new digital technologies in cancer care.
-European Health Data Space: where we stand and where we aim to go.
-Pharos AI Factory: Leading healthcare innovations.
-The role of National Cancer Mission Hubs in implementing effective cancer policies through the promotion of EBCP and the Cancer Mission.
-Improving the cancer pathway: digital applications in the service of patients and the system (Patient Navigation / Survivorship).

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

On Monday, June 30, at the opening of the Forum, the official announcement will be made that ELLOK has been designated as the National Cancer Mission Hub for our country, within the framework of the European Program ECHoS – Establishing National Mission Hubs.

The Greek National Cancer Mission Hub (GCMH), which is one of the first five approved hubs across Europe by ECHoS, highlights our organization’s preparedness and commitment to the fight against cancer. It represents a significant step in Greece’s active participation in the Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and the EU Mission on Cancer, one of the five Flagship Missions of the European Union.
