Sebastian Szmit: Very Important Review About Statins in Cardiooncology

Sebastian Szmit, Chair of Supportive Care Section of the Polish Society of Clinical Oncology at The Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC), shared Mobina Tajdari’s post on LinkedIn:

“Very important review about statins in cardiooncology

Congratulations to all Authors! It was my pleasure to contribute…”

Quoting Mobina Tajdari’s post:

“I’m excited to share that our latest review article titled ‘Statins: Novel Approaches for the Management of Doxorubicin-Induced Cardiotoxicity – A Literature Review’ has published in Cardiovascular Toxicology (Springer Nature), a prestigious journal with IF: 3.7!

This work explores the emerging role of statins as cardioprotective agents in patients undergoing doxorubicin-based chemotherapy. By examining their pleiotropic effects – ranging from antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions to mitochondrial protection – we highlight their potential to mitigate one of the most serious side effects of anthracycline treatment.

Grateful to all my co-authors and mentors for their collaboration in this project, Dr. Naser-Aldin Lashgari, Dr. Seyed Saeed Tamehri Zadeh, Dr. Nazanin Momeni Roudsari , Helia Mavaddat, Mahla Khalaji, and Hamed Abbasi-Kashkoli. Also I’m so thankful for valuable cooperation and support of Professor Sebastian Szmit, Professor Maciej Banach and my professor, Dr. Amir Hossein Abdolghaffari.

Looking forward to further research that bridges oncology and cardiovascular care.
