Robert A. Harrington: Weill Cornell Medicine Welcomes the Next Generation of Clinicians

Robert A. Harrington, Stephen and Suzanne Weiss Dean at Weill Cornell Medicine and Provost for Medical Affairs at Cornell University, shared on LinkedIn:

“We celebrated one of the most important milestones in our students’ clinical careers today.

The White Coat ceremony symbolizes the start of their careers as healthcare professionals.

Today was a first at Weill Cornell Medicine, as we welcomed our incoming classes of physician assistants and medical students on the same day.

These students begin their training at the same time and by aligning their training we are preparing them for their future medical practices.

In their careers, MDs and PAs work as a team and we hope to inspire a collaborative spirit to last through their career.

Both incoming classes experienced a special ceremony today to don their white coats. I look forward to this celebration every year.

I am so grateful to Joseph and Kelly for their team’s tireless work behind the scenes to make these events special and bring these students together.

Thanks to our inspiring keynote speakers, Jennifer Kennedy at the PA ceremony and Leonard at the MD ceremony.

Welcome to these bright minds who are going to change medicine!”
