Rachit Khandelwal shares 2025 breakthrough update on Sinusoidal Obstruction Syndrome post-HSCT
Rachit Khandelwal, Pediatrics BMT fellow at Medanta The Medicity, shared a post on X about recent paper by Marion Larue published in Nature, adding:
“New 2025 update on Sinusoidal Obstruction Syndrome (SOS/VOD) post-HSCT
- Liver is the main target
- Early signs = sinusoidal congestion, hepatic ischemia
- New 2023 EBMT criteria improve detection and stratification
- Defibrotide remains gold standard for severe SOS
Early diagnosis = better outcomes.”
