Mitchel Berger: A Legacy of Service to the President’s Cancer Panel

“We extend our sincerest gratitude to outgoing member Mitchel Berger, MD, for his service and contribution to the President’s Cancer Panel.

Dr. Berger (featured in the photo below on the left) is a neurosurgeon at University of California, San Francisco who was instrumental in assessing the National Cancer Program and co-authoring reports with recommendations delivered to the President of the United States. These reports highlighted opportunities for action to address issues facing the cancer community, including workforce challenges, barriers to cancer care, and investment in cancer research.
