2024 Masters in Thoracic Oncology Summit took place from November 21st to the 24th at the Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe, Truckee, California.

The Masters in Thoracic Oncology Summit (MaTOS) was a 3-day meeting, presented in significant distinct sessions by key thoracic oncology experts. This summit addressed and discussed the current challenges and future directions in the lung cancer space.

Through open discussions, attendees had the opportunity to analyze the latest discoveries in genetics and epigenomics in lung cancer, including diagnosis, minimal residual disease (MRD), monitoring for recurrence, and assessment of therapeutic success with targeted therapy and immunotherapy.

Stephen V Liu:

“Looking ahead for SCLC with Dr. Misty Dawn Shields at MaTOS24. Where will ADCs and BiTEs make the biggest impact? What are the optimal targets and payloads? How will maintenance lurbinectedin change outcomes? What role will radiation play?”

Estela Rodriguez:

Zosia Piotrowska, Mass General Cancer Center gives a great overview of treatment paradigm for EGFR20ins NSCLC and future directions.

  • Current SOC: amivantamab and chemo (Papilon).
  • Next options: 1L TKI vs TKI and chemotherapy.
  • Need to understand patters of resistance.”

Kelly Mercier:

“While we don’t have any biomarkers in sclc, it’s not for a lack of trying.

Leal Ticiana described on of the developments in assays that will drive the next generation of drugs in this challenging subtype of lung cancer.”

Estela Rodriguez:

“More options for 1st line therapy for EGFR+ lung cancer, means more questions.

Who benefits from intensification regimens?
At what long-term toxicities?
