The benefits of adopting ePROMs for cancer patients – Manchester Cancer Research Centre
Manchester Cancer Research Centre shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper by Sally Wheelwright et al. published in Journal of Cancer Policy:
“Researchers from across the UK have proposed ePROMs to be embedded in the National Cancer Plan, currently collecting evidence.
Adoption of electronic Patient Recorded Outcome Measures (ePROMs) remains sporadic across English trusts despite recommendation by professional bodies, NICE guidelines and APPGs.
ePROMS have been extensively used at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust completing over 70,000 ePROMs since 2019, with feedback spotlighting improved communication and patient involvement.
The benefits of adopting ePROMs for cancer patients include better outcomes, improved physical function, and improved quality of life.
