This work by Pablo Menendez Bujan and co-workers generated a single-cell expression atlas of 119,000 AML cells and AML stem cells in paired diagnostic-relapse samples and identify the role of the HIF pathway in drug resistance. They demonstrate that chemical inhibition of HIF cooperates with standard-of-care chemotherapy to impair AML growth and eliminate AML stem cells“.
