Highlights from IUCS 2025
The International Urology Cancer Summit 2025 (IUCS 2025) took place on September 4–5, 2025, in Portsmouth, UK, at Lakeside North Harbour, bringing together global leaders in genitourinary oncology. The program focused on the latest advancements in the management of prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers, offering a unique opportunity for healthcare professionals to learn from international experts.
Designed as an independent and collaborative educational forum, IUCS25 also created valuable networking opportunities, fostering connections across disciplines to advance care for patients with urologic cancers.
Our team at OncoDaily has selected a few posts from this event that you should not miss!
“Always amazing to hear Petros Grivas offer perspectives on bladder cancer SOC. Terrific overview of NIAGARA with perspectives on the primary dataset as presented by Tom Powles at ESMO24, but also the role of ctDNA, borderline renal fxn, etc.”
“Master class by Sumanta Pal at IUCS25.
Adjuvant therapy in RCC, clear take on trial strengths, pitfalls, and what really matters for patients beyond curves.”
“Beautiful presentation at IUCS25 “Neuroendocrine and histologic variants in bladder cancer”.
– Key insights on molecular profiling and rare histologies
– DLL3/CD3 T-cell engager and GU trials
– Clinical relevance of GUARDIANS, PURE-01, VESPER.”
Yüksel Ürün shared this post on X, adding:
“Neuroendocrine and rare histologies in bladder cancer remind us: every variant is a patient story!”
“Excellent talk by Enrique Grande at IUCS25 improving therapy of mUC bladder cancer oncologists prioritize survival data, and patients favor quality of life.”
“Amit Bahl IUCS25 reminding us of the next frontier in prostate cancer management – reducing cardiovascular events.”
“Listening with full attention.”
Petros Grivas shared this post on X, adding:
“I am so happy to sit between amazing people and getting smarter by osmosis! Wonderful meeting!”
“Terrific talk by Laurence Albiges related to biomarkers in kidney cancer that spanned KIM1, microbiome (MAdCAM-1, TACITO), sarcomatoid histology, NLR and so much more. Particularly enjoyed the discussion around PDL1 – she laid out excellent rationale for CARE1!
Very important study!”
“Insightful talk at IUCS25 “ADT in prostate cancer – Getting to the heart of the matter” Prof Amit Bahl
– Cardiovascular disease = leading cause of death in men with prostate cancer.
– ADT increases risk via metabolic syndrome to weight gain, diabetes, dyslipidemia.
– Data from HERO trial + meta-analyses: GnRH antagonists significantly reduce MACE vs agonists (43%↓ risk of major CV events).
– NICE and expert networks: recommend antagonists as preferred ADT in pts with high CV risk.
– Very pedagogical talk on balancing cancer control with CV protection.”
Neeraj Agarwal shared this post on X, adding:
“Loved the talk on the heart health in #prostatecancer pts starting androgen deprivation therapy by Amit Bahl “ABCDE” of cardio protection.”
“Wow!!
Amazing RCC talks at IUCS 2025 by the phenomenal Sumanta Pal and Laurence Albiges.
– Monty ties together adjuvant and the microbiome brilliantly!
– Laurence guided us through some hope in biomarkers like KIM-1 and the CARE1 study!
What a great meeting.”
“Terrific presentation from John McGrane, offering rationale for SABR in kidney cancer. Huge contributions from individuals like Shankar Siva, Chad Tang and others to this emerging field.”
“Tour de force by Petros Grivas at IUCS25. From peri-op immunotherapy in MIBC to ctDNA-guided insights showing how trials like NIAGARA are reshaping the future of bladder cancer care.”
Neeraj Agarwal shared this post on X, adding:
“Another masterclass by the master Petros Grivas at IUCS25.
Ongoing trials of peri-op immunotherapy in MIBC bladder cancer , role of ctDNA-guided Rx, and take home message.”
“The IUCS25 came to an end!I want to congratulate Giuseppe Banna for the amazing organization, more importantly for his friendship!”
Petros Grivas shared this post on X, adding:
“Amazing IUCS25 meeting!
So impressed with quality of speakers/presentations and social agenda! Well done Giuseppe Banna.”
