Huseyin Orun: From School to Workplace – Promoting Healthy Lifestyles in Childhood Cancer Survivors
Huseyin Orun, Medical Doctor (Resident) at Başkent University, shared a post by JAMA Oncology, adding:
“It is another evidence that we need more health promotion strategies in daily life including schools and when they grow-up at work among childhood cancer survivors. Of course, healthy lifestyle is mainly a behaviour, but there are something to do at schools, at workplaces, even in the cities. So, we need good policies to implement for reaching better long-term survival, lower morbidity, and better quality-of-life. Remembering Ottawa Charter, Governments are responsible for health promotion.”
Quoting JAMA Oncology‘s post:
“In childhood cancer survivors, obesity was linked to a higher risk of various subsequent neoplasm types, while increased physical activity was associated with a reduced risk.”
