Daniel Flora: Transparency in medicine is more important than ever
Daniel Flora, Medical Director of Oncology Research at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Every year, I fill out my conflict of interest (COI) disclosure for ASCO, and every year, I have the same thought: Am I actually conflicted, or does it just look that way?
I believe doctors should disclose their relationships with industry. Transparency in medicine is more important than ever. Patients deserve to know if their doctor is receiving payments from pharmaceutical companies, whether for educational talks, consulting, or research grants.
But where do I fit into this picture?”
