Caterina Sposetti: CT scan analysis is an important and cost-effective tool to tailor therapy for oncologic patients
Caterina Sposetti, Medical Oncology Fellow at Dana-Farber’s Breast Oncology Center and Dana-Farber Zakim Center, shared a post by Paolo Tarantino, Research Fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, adding:
“Adiposity and muscle mass evaluation through CT scan analysis is an important and cost-effective tool to tailor therapy for oncologic patients in routine clinical practice, especially with advanced cancers–potentially reducing toxicities.”
Quoting Paolo Tarantino‘s post:
“ADCs: are we dosing them right? Likely not. In this body composition study of 48 patients with mBC receiving T-DXd, higher subcutaneous adipose tissue and higher BMI were associated with a 5-fold increase in dose reductions and reduced T-DXd activity.”
