The 17th BGICC 2025 (Breast, Gynecological and Immuno-oncology International Cancer Conference) will be held from January 23-24, 2025, at the Hilton Heliopolis Hotel in Cairo, Egypt.

It has since become a leading foundation for international clinical and translational studies. IBCSG (International Breast Cancer Study Group) began in 1977 as the “Ludwig Breast Cancer Study Group.”

After transitioning to a focus on laboratory research in 1985, it became a legally recognized non-profit foundation in 1992. IBCSG is known for pioneering studies in breast cancer treatment and improving patient quality of life.On July 1, 2021, ETOP and IBCSG merged to form the ETOP IBCSG Partners Foundation, strengthening their collaborative efforts and enhancing their global research capabilities.

The Faculty of Medicine Ain Shams Research Institute (MASRI) is equipped with advanced laboratory technology that supports basic science research. The institute aims to be a leading center for scientific research in Egypt and the surrounding region, collaborating with various faculties and universities to enhance medical and biomedical research.

MASRI comprises six departments focused on pre-clinical research, genome studies, and stem cell research, along with an accredited clinical research center. It has established the largest cancer biobank in the Arab region, which contains samples and clinical data from approximately 28,000 patients. This initiative aims to facilitate personalized medicine by understanding the genetic characteristics of Egyptian cancer patients.

The mission of IGCS is to enhance the care of individuals affected by gynecologic cancers worldwide through education, training, and public awareness.

The society achieves this by collaborating with regional and international organizations, hosting scientific meetings, promoting research, and conducting outreach activities that raise awareness about early detection and treatment. In 2018, IGCS launched the International Gynecologic Patient Advocacy Network (IGCAN) to support patient outreach and advocacy initiatives aimed at improving the lives of those affected by gynecologic cancers globally.
