APOCP: The Story Behind the APOCP 2026 Conference Logo “The Pua Kumbu Heart”

APOCP – Asian Pacific Organization for Cancer Prevention shared on LinkedIn:

“The Story Behind the APOCP 2026 Conference Logo: ‘The Pua Kumbu Heart’

A conference logo is more than a visual identity – it reflects the values and purpose of the event.

The APOCP 2026 Conference logo, ‘The Pua Kumbu Heart,’ draws inspiration from the Pua Kumbu, a traditional textile woven by the Iban people of Sarawak, Borneo. By incorporating this cultural heritage, the logo celebrates our host destination while symbolizing the collective commitment of the Asia-Pacific community to advancing cancer prevention and control.

Each element represents a core value:

  • Heart – Compassion and Connection
  • Tree – Growth and Hope
  • Pua Kumbu – Heritage and Culture
  • The Human Spirit – Unity and Strength

Together, these elements reflect the conference’s vision of fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and meaningful action towards equitable cancer prevention and control across the region.

We look forward to welcoming delegates from around the world to Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, from 28-30 September 2026 at The Waterfront Hotel.
