CancerWorld Highlights ACT for Children Initiative to Address Global Childhood Cancer Inequities
CancerWorld shared a post on LinkedIn:
“What determines a child’s chance of surviving cancer? Often, it’s not biology – but geography.
In high-income countries, over 80% of children with cancer are cured. In low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), that number drops below 30%.
This is one of the greatest – and most urgent – Health Inequities of our time.
In our latest CancerWorld cover story, we spotlight ACT for Children, a groundbreaking global initiative led by Servier and partners. Their mission: close the Childhood Cancer survival gap by bringing life-saving medicines and holistic care directly to hospitals in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Armenia, and Indonesia.
In just 7 months, the ACT for Children alliance has:
- Delivered $2.8M worth of high-quality medicines
- Trained over 300 healthcare professionals
- Begun building systems that will last long after the first shipment
This isn’t charity. It’s STRATEGY. And it’s working.
Because science means little without access. And survival shouldn’t depend on where you were born.
Read the full story behind this global call to action.”
CancerWorld highlighted the ACT for Children initiative, led by Servier and partners, which aims to reduce survival disparities in pediatric oncology. The program has delivered medicine, training, and infrastructure to five countries within seven months.
