Abhishek Garg: Just Because It Is a Bispecific Immunotherapy, Does Not Mean It Will “Shine”?

Abhishek Garg, Research Associate Professor at KU Leuven, shared on LinkedIn:

Just because it is a bispecific immunotherapy doesn’t mean it will ‘shine’?

Seems so… at least in this cancer-type context and this PD1/CTLA4 bispecific. Clearly, we cannot just rearrange known targets ‘at random’ and get superior efficacy. Maybe for some it can work (as evident from some that got approved thus far and the upcoming PD(L)1/VEGF bispecifics), but it wouldn’t work every time.

Something to keep in mind since the clock is currently ticking on a number of ‘randomly rearranged target-based bispecifics.’

Would be interesting to see which MoA and target combination modus operandi pans out and which doesn’t – that will define the ‘Multispecifics bull’s eye’!”
